The company was founded by well-known tea connoisseur and international tea trader Peter Wescombe, whose decades of experience across Asia shaped the foundation of the business.
Having lived in Asia for over 25 years, Peter immersed himself in the tea cultures of key producing regions, studying under respected tea masters and developing a deep understanding of Asian teas. His experience spans tea evaluation, grading, sourcing and international trade, supported by long-standing relationships with producers across China, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand and India.
Peter’s involvement in organisations including ITMA (International Tea Masters Association) and AASTA (Australasian Specialty Tea Association) reflects his ongoing engagement with the global tea community — expertise that established Zi Chun’s direct trade philosophy and continues to guide the company today.
